ConnectUC iPhone Configuration Guide -
Allow ConnectUC Notifications During Focus Mode
Overview
If ConnectUC is not notifying you of incoming calls or SMS messages, your iPhone's Focus Mode or notification settings may be preventing alerts from appearing.
This guide will ensure that ConnectUC can send notifications even when Focus Mode is enabled.
Step 1: Allow ConnectUC in Focus Mode
- Open Settings.
- Select Focus.
- Select the Focus profile you use (e.g., Do Not Disturb, Work, Personal, Sleep).
- Under Allowed Notifications, tap Apps.
- Tap Add App.
- Select ConnectUC.
- Confirm that ConnectUC appears in the list of allowed apps.

Step 2: Verify ConnectUC Notification Settings
- Open Settings.
- Select Notifications.
- Scroll down and select ConnectUC.
Verify the following settings are enabled:
- Allow Notifications = ON
- Lock Screen = ON
- Notification Center = ON
- Banners = ON
- Sounds = ON
- Badges = ON
Step 3: Set Notification Delivery to "Always"
If your iPhone supports Scheduled Summary:
- Go to Settings → Notifications → ConnectUC.
- Ensure Immediate Delivery is selected.
- Do not include ConnectUC in Scheduled Summary.
If using Focus Mode:
- Go to Settings → Focus.
- Select your active Focus profile.
- Under Options, ensure time-sensitive notifications are allowed.
- Verify ConnectUC is an allowed app.

Step 4: Enable Background App Refresh
- Open Settings.
- Navigate to General → Background App Refresh.
Ensure:
- Background App Refresh = ON
- ConnectUC = ON
Step 5: Test Notifications
- Confirm ConnectUC is signed in.
- Send a test SMS to your ConnectUC number.
- Place a test call to your extension or DID.
Verify:
- The phone rings.
- SMS notifications appear immediately.
- Notifications appear even when Focus Mode is active.
Additional Notes
Symptoms of Focus Mode interference may include:
- Missed incoming calls
- SMS messages arriving without notifications
- Calls appearing only in call history
- Notifications appearing only after opening ConnectUC
If issues persist, temporarily disable Focus Mode and perform another test to determine whether device settings are impacting notifications.
