From a web browser, you can make ConnectUC calls with one click on any web page with a phone number link.

Important: One-click dialing only works on computers with the ConnectUC client installed as a Progressive Web App (PWA).

You can use ConnectUC to make calls from the following browsers:

  • Google Chrome
  • Microsoft Edge

Turn on one-click dialing

  1. On your computer, install the ConnectUC client.
  2. On your computer, register ConnectUC as the tel: URL handler (see below).
  3. When prompted, allow ConnectUC to make calls on one of the browsers below:
    • Google Chrome: Click Allow.
    • Microsoft Edge: Click Allow.

Tip: If your browser doesn’t prompt you to allow one-click dialing, please see the instructions below.

Check if ConnectUC can make calls

The steps below allow you to check if ConnectUC has access to make calls from your browser.

Google Chrome

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More (three dots) and then Settings.
  3. On the left, click Privacy and Security.
  4. Click Site Settings -> Additional permissions ->  Protocol handlers.

Note: If you do not see these settings, you may instead enter 'chrome://settings/handlers' into the Chrome Browser address bar to view the page.
  5. Ensure that "Sites can ask to handle protocols" is checked.

Once the steps above are completed, ConnectUC will then be able to prompt handling the "tel:" URLs and allow the user to dial.

Microsoft Edge

  1. On your computer, open Microsoft Edge.
  2. At the top right, click More (three dots) and then Settings.
  3. On the left, click Cookies and Site Permissions.
  4. Scroll to and click Protocol handlers.

You can confirm that One-click dialing is enabled if app.connectuc.io displays under “Handlers for tel links.”
